Our weekly “Dough Balls" class. For our slightly older or more experienced chefs who have already begun to acquire the basics of cookery. Chefs in this class are looking to practice their foundational skills and progress further, learning about the week’s dish in an extended or deeper way. They also work more independently to help build their confidence in the kitchen.

When purchasing "Single Sessions" please book by 12pm the Friday before, to be included for that Saturday's class.

My step daughter has been attending Saturday morning cooking classes for the last couple of weeks. She has always wanted to be a chef and we wanted somewhere where she could have fun but also have the opportunity to learn some real serious skills to support her if this interest continued beyond childhood. She thoroughly enjoys going and is so excited every Friday night. The children are really welcoming and spoke to her when she was feeling a little shy. We get an email of recipes which is great for us to recreate at home!

Our weekly "Bagel Bites" class. Perfect for our younger students, or those just starting out on their culinary journey with Mother Dough! This fun, closely supervised class helps students practice and develop their cookery skills. Chefs in this class use safety equipment, such as plastic knives, and learn skills that are age-and-stage appropriate. This allows them to learn in as safe an environment as possible, whilst still allowing them the opportunity to progress and build confidence in their skills.

Our children have been attending Mother Dough Culinary for almost 2.5 years now and they absolutely love creating new treats or dishes to recreate at home. 
Luna is a typical 9 year old who doesn’t like veggies and some how the amazingly talented Georgia managed to convince her to try the veg she’s had cooked in a stir fry, to the point where I didn’t even get a taste of what she had made! We are astonished! 
Our son Bodi loves most veg and most foods so the classes for him are more about gaining confidence around other adults and children and of course becoming a master in the kitchen at home. 
They both take a keen interest in the receipts sent home and we regularly go out to buy those specific ingredients so they can cook us up at storm at home for the whole family!
Out of all the clubs after school and weekends they’ve tried, this is most definitely their favourite of all.
The independence they learn in the kitchen and being sensible is second to none. The sessions are tailored for specific age ranges and Georgia is so kind and caring with the children that it feels so homely and I know they are always safe and happy in the centre.
In our opinion, the sessions are worth their weight in gold, preparing them to be confident chefs and be comfortable in kitchen environments along with providing enhanced enrichment opportunities.

Our “Bread Sticks" class is for our teenage chef brigade! Students in this class have, or with support quickly learn, many basic foundational skills. This is a great class for older chefs that want to build their confidence in the kitchen, becoming more independent young adults. Wether helping out with dinner at home or going to university with a few solid recipes under their belt, this class makes the most of our chef tutor’s professional insight, to stretch potential. A class that both supports and challenges the older chef on their culinary journey.

- Teenage chefs work more independently, sometimes adding extra elements to our weekly dish or learning more advanced techniques not suitable for younger classes

Mother Dough Culinary

A mother dough is a base for all doughs, a little bit is in every batch. It breathes life into every loaf of bread and, like a baker's mother dough, we pass on our knowledge, skills and passion to the next generation of young chefs.

Mother Dough Culinary are a partnership of Georgia Riley and Glenn Stavers, delivering engaging, professional cookery classes for children age 5 to 16 years.

Georgia is a professional chef. Having trained at catering college, and baking from a young age, she then worked for several years in the catering and restaurant industries. 

Glenn has a background in teaching and education, currently working in several primary and secondary schools across Merseyside. He has been working in the education sector for over 17 years.

Mother Dough Culinary deliver engaging cookery classes for children age 5 to 16 years. We provide all the equipment and ingredients needed for every session. All you need to do is drop off, pick up and bring a container to take your dish home in.  We’ll take care of the rest…even the mess!

Run by a partnership of Georgia Riley and Glenn Stavers, Mother Dough are passionate about all things food! Georgia is our lead chef, having worked in the catering and restaurant industry for several years. Glenn has a background in the education sector, currently working as a class lead in several primary and secondary schools across Merseyside. We are fully insured and enhance DBS checked, so you can be confident that your chef will be well looked after while  in our care.

Below you can see all the classes we currently offer. We follow a termly format, closely following the academic year. 

Our youngest students usually start in our "Bagel Bites" group. "Dough Balls" classes are better suited to slightly older children and our teenagers are our  "Bread Sticks" class. 

When available, you can also find our Home Education and Holiday Schools here!

If you have a child between 5-7 years we usually suggest our "Bagel Bites" class. Slightly older children will be best in our "Dough Balls" class and for chefs 11 and up, we'd recommend our "Bread Sticks" classes.

If you're unsure please drop us a message as these ages are a guide. We also like to take into account the ability level of our chefs.
